The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing (2020), 38, (1), 83–98.

Abstract

The Mary Newberry Mentorship Program offered by the Indexing Society of Canada/Société canadienne d’indexation (ISC/SCI) has been in operation since January 2019. One of the first coordinators of the program, Linda Christian, reports on its progress and discusses the three components of mentorship – the mentor, the mentee and the mentorship relationship. She contrasts the mentorship programme with other professional-development initiatives and considers how it might expand in the future.
