The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing (2008), 26, (3), 114–117.

Abstract

In this article, Stephanie Bilodeau, until recently senior indexer at the Library of the Canadian Parliament, describes the role of indexing Canadian parliamentary proceedings with particular reference to the indexing of the proceedings of the Senate committees. She describes the particular challenges of indexing, in French and English, the raw, unorganized, transcripts of oral proceedings, explains the progress made over the last two or three years and looks at possibilities for the future.
