Marx Memorial Library activities and events: Radical archives as radical agents

Theory & Struggle (2018), 119, (1), 127–132.

Abstract

This article is based on a paper given at ‘Wars of Position: Marxism and Civil Society’, an international conference at the People’s History Museum in Manchester in June 2017. It provides a summary history of the Marx Memorial Library (MML) in London, including its archive collections. This sets the context for discussion of the library’s educational programme. The article concludes by stressing the importance of bringing these two strands together, integrating the archive and education to support new generations of activists.
