Qu6bec Studies, No. 19, 1995 NOTE TO CONTRIBUTORS Quibec Studies publishes articles dealing with all aspects of Quebec society and French-Canadian culture. The editors of QuLbec Studies welcome interpretive or theoretical essays, book reviews, and interviews in all fields of the humanities and social sciences. Interdisciplinary essays are particularly encouraged. Issues devoted in part to a single topic or major cultural figure will appear regularly. Articles may be in French or English. Submissions should be 15-20 pages in length, including endnotes, typed double-spaced, and conform to the MLA Style Manual (1985). The Works Cited or Ouvrages cites section should list all works consulted by the author. Unnecessary endnotes are to be avoided. "Usually the author's last name and a page reference are enough to identify the source and the specific location from which you have borrowed material." (MLA Handbook 5.2) Whether the essay is written in English or in French, standardized punctuation requires that commas and periods be inside quotation marks. All normally italicized words, including titles, should be underlined in the manuscript. Unwarranted genderized language should be avoided. A separate title page should include the manuscript title and the author's name and address. In order to ensure anonymity, the author's name should not appear on the manuscript. Authors will need to provide a copy of the manuscript on a computer diskette if it is accepted for publication. Please send three copies of the manuscript and include a stamp self-addressed envelope. Manuscripts must be written in Microsoft Word or Word Perfect version 4 and higher. Contributors to Que'bec Studies will also be asked to provide a three or four line abstract of their essay.
