Abstract

Le référendum au Québec d'octobre 1995 a non seulement exacerbé la politique sur le plan fédéral; il a également rendu visibles d'importantes questions de multiculturalisme dans la province. D'ailleurs, il a transformé le caractère de l'éducation politique au Québec. Comment ces modifications dans l'ampleur et le fond de l'éducation politique et civique risquent-elles de transformer les communautés canadienne et québécoise? Nous nous proposons d'examiner le processus de socialisation politique, surtout le cadre et la culture qui soustendent l'éducation politique, par le biais d'une analyse qui compare quatre générations de Québécois. L'étude finit par faire état de quelques défis posés à l'éducation civique dans la décennie à venir.
