Abstract

179 Note to Contributors Québec Studies publishes articles dealing with all aspects of Q u é b e c society and francophone Canadian culture. T h e editors of Québec Studies w e l c o m e interpretive or theoretical essays, b o o k reviews, a n d interviews in all fields of the humanities and social sciences. Interdisciplinary essays are particu larly encouraged. Issues devoted in part to a single topic or major cultural figure will appear regularly. Articles m a y b e in English or French. Submissions should be 20-25 pages in length, including endnotes, typed double-spaced. W h e n submit ting an essay, a separate page should include the manuscript title and the author's n a m e and address. In order to assure anonymity during the re view process, the author's n a m e should not appear on the manuscript and self-citation should be avoided. Submissions should b e m a d e electronically as an attachment. Authors should use Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. Contributors to Québec Studies will also be asked to provide a short bio graphical note. A list of Works Cited (Ouvrages cités) should follow the article and endnotes, listing all works cited or explicitly referred to b y the author. A Bibliography (Ouvrages consultés) of additional w o r k s consulted b y the author m a y also follow, but these m u s t be related directly to the article, and not of a general nature. Endnotes that merely identify the source of a cita tion are to be avoided, since such identification is to be done parenthetically in the m a i n b o d y of the text. W h e t h e r the essay is written in English or French, Québec Studies requires that c o m m a s a n d periods b e inside quota tion marks. Articles returned to contributors for revision will b e accompa nied b y a Style Sheet. It is the responsibility of the contributor to adhere scrupulously to the Style Sheet w h e n preparing a final version of the manu script. Deviations from this citational style should b e restricted to patterns set forth in The Chicago Manual of Style. Manuscripts in the humanities should b e addressed to the editor, Jane Moss, D u k e University, 11 Coldstream Lane, Pinehurst, North Carolina 28374 (jmm91@duke.edu).
